Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Are donations tax deductible?
Yes. We are a legal, charitable, non-profit corporation with 501(c)(3) status and all donations are tax deductible. Don't forget to ask your company if they match charitable donations.

How can I help?
There are lots of ways to help. The simplest way is by donating money that will go directly to support scientific and medical research, but there are many other ways to help too. We'll certainly need help organizing fundraising events. Engaging others you know to support this cause is a great help as well. We have also come up with other methods to raise money, see the website for more information. For example, you can donate money simply by buying a book on amazon.com!

I want to donate now, what do I have to do?
There are several ways to donate. You can simply send a check to "The Cohen Foundation of Maryland, Inc" at 5221 Crown St, Bethesda, MD 20816. Or you can donate immediately with your credit card using Google Checkout or Paypal. Get more information here.

Can I tell others?
Yes! Yes! Yes! Please spread the word. Feel free to send our web address along to your family and friends. By supporting medical research AND the University of Maryland we believe we can reach a wide audience that is willing to support the cause!

I want to donate a lot!
If you want to donate $1000 or more (or donate $500 with a company match) you are eligible to enter the Colonnade Society at the University of Maryland. The contribution level will provide you with additional benefits through the University, so we'd like to introduce you directly to the University in this case. The donation can still go to the lab we have chosen, but we want to make sure you receive any additional perks as well. So please let us know!
